History of The Darius Slay

Darius Slay is a professional American football player who currently plays as a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on January 1, 1991, in Brunswick, Georgia, and grew up in the small town of Brunswick.


Slay attended Brunswick High School, where he played high school football as a wide receiver and defensive back. He also ran track and field, participating in events such as the 100-meter dash and the 4x100 relay.


After graduating from high school, Slay attended Mississippi State University, where he played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs from 2009 to 2012. During his time at Mississippi State, Slay was a two-year starter and was named first-team All-SEC in 2012.


In the 2013 NFL Draft, Slay was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round, 36th overall. He played for the Lions for six seasons, from 2013 to 2018, where he established himself as one of the league's top cornerbacks. In 2017, he was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named a first-team All-Pro.


In 2019, Slay was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he has continued to play as a key member of the team's defense. He has been known for his speed, agility, and ball-hawking skills, making him a tough matchup for opposing receivers.


Off the field, Slay is known for his philanthropic work and community involvement. He has established the Darius Slay Foundation, which aims to help underprivileged children and families in his hometown of Brunswick, Georgia, and surrounding areas. He has also been involved in various charity events and activities throughout his career, such as donating money and supplies to schools and organizing youth football camps.
